10 ways to quickly treat a sore throat
One of the quickest remedies is to take some drugs that reduce inflammation, swelling and irritation of the throat.
- Salt and water
Once you experience tingling and irritation in the throat, mix some lukewarm water with salt and gargle. You can do this several times a day, as this will destroy the bacteria. Doctors usually recommend the mixture to be a glass of water and half a tablespoon of salt.
- Throat lozenges and sprays
Throat lozenges will immediately ease the pain because they cause extra secretion of saliva, and so your oral cavity will be less dry. - Drink plenty of fluids

If you also have a severe headache, visit your doctor because you may have bacteria that can be cured only by antibiotics. Make sure the antibiotics have been personally prescribed to you by your doctor.
