If you’re sleeping on the side, curl up in a fetal position – put a pillow between your knees to make things easier.
Sleeping on your back with a pillow under your head and arms is the best way of relieving neck pain. If you’re sleeping on the side, avoid using a high pillow – for best results, use orthopedic pillows.
In cases of shoulder pain, it’s best to avoid sleeping on the side where the shoulder hurts. Sleeping on the stomach should be out of the question as well, as it may misalign the shoulders. Lying on the back is the most effective way of resolving shoulder pain – put one pillow under your head and on your stomach and hug it so your shoulders stay stable.
Trouble falling asleep
If you’re unable to fall asleep quickly, avoid using electronic devices prior to bedtime. The blue light emitted from the screens affects your sleep-wake cycle and may make you unable to fall asleep. Drinking caffeinated drinks before going to bed is forbidden as well, as is consumption of chocolate, soda, energy drinks and black tea.
To improve your sleep, you should also start exercising. Exercise every day to boost your circulation and help everything in your system run properly.
Unable to wake up
This is a problem that can be easily fixed – if you can’t get up in the morning, set an alarm on your phone for the same time every day, even at the weekends. If you want to get up early, go to bed earlier in the evening.
Snoring people should never sleep on their backs – this makes the throat sag and moves the tongue backwards, narrowing the airways and making your snore. Soft pillows should be avoided as well, as they only increase the snoring. Get a harder pillow and sleep on your side and you should be fine.
