Aloe Vera is a plant with a well-documented use throughout history. The plant has been used since ancient Egypt where pharaohs have been using it against inflammation, skin problems and digestive problems as well. The incredible health benefits of Aloe have made the plant very popular, and today it can be found in most American and European homes.

WHAT ALOE VERA DOES IN YOUR BODY WHY EGYPTIANS CALLED IT THE PLANT OF IMMORTALITY

Although some people know about the health benefits of the plant, most see it simply as an aesthetic plant. Aloe Vera has been used against different health problems in the past – it has been identified in several ancient Egyptian (where it was called “The Plant of Immortality”), Greek and Roman records, but it has also been used in South Africa, South America and the Caribbean as well. According to scientists from the Maryland Medical Center, the plant has been prescribed as a medication in America in the 18th and 19th century and is still being used as a natural remedy.

Aloe Vera health benefits

This super-healthy plant can treat a variety of diseases and conditions. It has commonly been used against oral problems, inflammatory conditions, fever, colitis, asthma and various skin problems as well. The gel from the plant can easily treat sunburns, minor wounds and infections thanks to its antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. The analgesic properties of the plant are probably due to the presence of polysaccharide and lycoproteins which can block pain and inflammation effectively.

According to several studies, fresh Aloe gel can treat burns better than any kind of medication. The plant can also help you in case of digestive problems, and can also treat canker sores, upper respiratory infections and even cancer. However, in order to use the gel, you’ll need to prepare it properly first. Here’s how:

Ingredients

1 Aloe Vera plant

Lemon juice

1 sterile jar

1 clean plate

1 cutting board

A knife

A towel

Preparation

Wash your hands well first in order to avoid contaminating the plant, then cut a juicy leaf of the plant and leave it to drain on a clean plate for 15 minutes. Afterwards, put the leaf on the cutting board and cut off the edges, then fillet the leaf nicely and remove all the gel from within. Put the gel in the sterilized jar, then squeeze a bit of lemon juice over it to preserve its freshness. If you like, you can mix the gel in a food processor and make it smoother, although we suggest going natural.

For medical uses, you should consume 30 ml. of the gel 3 times a day. To use the gel topically, rub the gel on the wounds a couple of times a day until your skin has healed. Try the Aloe gel yourself and you will be amazed by the results!
